Sunday brunch in Wichita is a contact sport, and I take hits for you. This town will serve you a crawfish omelet and a Mothman Mocha on the same block, from polished rooms at Georges to a plant bar where you build your own greenery.

I've logged the hours, from the trance-like consistency of The Belmont's truffle fries to the banana split coffee that defies logic. Lottē's feta dip alone justifies the argument about which of these actually count as brunch.

Go hungry. Leave heavier.

Choose your fighter.

Grand Mimosa with Grand Marnier and Wycliff Champagne
Buttermilk Pancakes with eggs and choice of meat
Exceptional service from Joshua

Another Broken Egg Cafe is the kind of place where the menu reads like a dare. Crawfish and shrimp omelet with grits? Sure. Smoked Salmon Benedict with loaded bacon gouda grits? Absolutely. I ordered the Grand Mimosa and felt fancy until the pancakes arrived. Those buttermilk pancakes with eggs and a choice of meat are a safe bet, but the kitchen clearly prefers the loud stuff. Joshua handled our table with the confidence of a man who has seen brunch chaos. Service like his makes the wait worth it. Just go hungry. You will leave heavier.

Derrick’s service is a cut above
Truffle fries are a must-order
Crème brûlée cheesecake wins desserts
Trendy spot worth the repeat trips

The Belmont keeps showing up in my notes, and I keep going back. That should tell you something. Derrick runs the floor like he owns it, and his service is a cut above the usual brunch indifference. The truffle fries are not a suggestion. They are a requirement. I tried the crème brûlée cheesecake once and now every other dessert feels like a betrayal. The food is consistent, which is rare in this town. It is trendy, yes. But the repeat trips prove it is not just hype. Just order the fries first.

Mothman Mocha is otherworldly
Lovely owners, great vibes
Blackberry limeade shines
Affordable local favorite

Paranormal.Cafe is the best kind of weird. I ordered the Mothman Mocha and it actually delivered on the name. Otherworldly, sure, but also just a damn good coffee. The pumpkin cake is the best I have had in Wichita, and I do not say that lightly. I hate pumpkin spice season, but this cake converted me. The blackberry limeade is bright and tart, a perfect counter to all that sweetness. The owners are lovely and the vibes are easy. Prices are friendly too. This place is a local favorite for a reason.

Lottē is where I go when I want to feel like my breakfast is smarter than me. Local ingredients, real flavor, no shortcuts. The feta dip is mandatory. I will not argue about this. Their drinks demand total commitment, and I gave it willingly. The menu changes constantly, which means I never know what I am getting. That is part of the thrill. The staff knows their stuff and will actually talk you through the options. Nothing feels phoned in. If you want a predictable brunch, go elsewhere. I will be here.

Pennant Coffee has the best coffee in Wichita. I said it. I will say it again. The ube bird latte is a killer drink, purple and sweet and weird in the best way. The Tokyo Fog is top-tier matcha, smooth and not bitter. Staff is friendly and the tunes are always solid. I have never left here feeling ripped off, which is more than I can say for half the brunch spots in town. It is worth every single penny. If you need me, I will be in the corner with a Tokyo Fog and no plans.

Tiramisu worth devouring
Fantastic Dill Martini
Great spot for Italian nights

FioRito Ristorante is not a brunch spot, but I am including it anyway because the food demands it. Homemade bread and pasta, and you can taste the difference. The dill martini is fantastic, weirdly fresh and herbal. I had the tiramisu and it is worth devouring in one sitting, no shame. The space feels like an Italian night out, which is exactly what I want on a Sunday. Service was solid. No complaints. If you need a break from eggs and pancakes, this is your refuge. Just be ready to nap after.

Great for special occasions

Georges French Bistro feels like a special occasion even when it is just a Tuesday. The dining room is beautiful and spacious, which is rare in Wichita. I ordered the calamari and the sauce stole the show. The duck was well-seasoned, tender, and properly cooked. The old fashioned is well-crafted, not too sweet, not too angry. This is the place you take someone you want to impress. It is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I left feeling like I had actually done something with my day. That counts.

Greater Grounds Coffee & Co is the kind of place where you accidentally stay for three hours. The coffee is worth returning for, and I have. The chicken salad sandwich is world-famous, and I am not going to be the one to argue. It is creamy, crunchy, and exactly right. They also do creative drinks and crepes, which sounds like a gimmick until you taste them. Staff is fantastic and welcoming. The vibe is hangout, not hurry. Bring a book or a friend. GROW Plant Bar is not a brunch place. It is a plant place with drinks. Do not care. Go anyway. I built a custom plant because the staff made it fun, like a cocktail for my shelf. Stellar service, exceptional attention, and they handle groups of all ages without blinking. The drinks are creative, both alcoholic and sober, and the banana split coffee is a standout. It is weird and wonderful. I brought my mom. She loved it. I brought a friend. She loved it. Bring anyone. You will all leave happy.

Staff knows their stuff
Worth the road trip
Friendly service every time

Poppie's Cafe is worth the road trip. I will say that up front, because it is true. The vegan food here is the best I have had in the area, and I am not even vegan. I just like good food. The staff knows their stuff and will point you in the right direction without being pushy. Service is friendly every single time. I do not know how they do it, but the consistency is impressive. If you are skeptical, order something simple. It will still win you over. I was skeptical. I was wrong.

Country Cafe is the Sunday regulars' favorite for a reason. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, like a breakfast at your grandmother's house, if your grandmother was an excellent cook. Phenomenal food, impeccable service. I went during the holidays and it felt like a warm hug in plate form. The staff remembers you, which is rare. The food is consistent, never a gamble. This is the kind of place where you order the same thing every week and that is not a complaint. It is a tradition. I get it now.

Spinach artichoke dip surprise
Hot Honeyed Chicken sandwich
Brown sugar bacon pairing
Train Wrecker deliciousness
Friendly, helpful waitstaff

Nortons Brewing Company is where I go when I want brunch with a side of beer. The spinach artichoke dip was a surprise, and not a bad one. It is creamy, cheesy, and better than it should be. The Hot Honeyed Chicken sandwich is messy and perfect, and the brown sugar bacon is a pairing that makes no sense until you taste it. The Train Wrecker is delicious, a solid pour. Waitstaff is friendly and helpful, even when I ask too many questions. If you want a break from mimosas, this is your spot.
